Features of some birds and animals

Once upon a time there lived a gray bird. Her name was Bullfinch. One summer, in the forest, she met a bear. They argued whose forest it was. The bear decided to catch the bird and eat it, but only wounded its chest with its claw. Since then, the bullfinch's chest has been red. And the bullfinch began to fly to these regions only in winter, when all the bears are sleeping.

WHY DOES THE HERON STAND ON ONE LEG?

Once upon a time there lived a heron. She walked and wandered through the swamp and looked for food. She splashed the water with her feet, and from this all the fish and frogs hid. The poor heron remained hungry. One day she decided to pretend to be a plant so that all the fish and frogs would swim to her. The hunt was successful. And she even began to sleep on one leg, changing first one and then the other. Since then, all the herons have been doing this.

WHY DOES THE PARTICE WINTER WITH US?

In ancient times, partridges flew south. One partridge flew very poorly and constantly sat down to rest. The other birds, understandably, did not like this. One day they didn't take her with them. So the partridge stayed with us for the winter. And when the birds returned, the partridge sang to them: “Even though you flew away, leaving me alone, I didn’t disappear, I even grew fat.” Since then, partridges have been wintering with us.

WHY IS THE RED FOX?

Once upon a time there lived a peasant. And then one day he noticed that his geese and small lambs began to disappear. And he began to think which of the animals was doing this: a wolf, a fox or a bear. He decided to set three traps. He comes in the morning and sees a fox, a wolf and a bear sitting in them. He asks them: “Who steals?” no one confesses. Then the peasant said: “Whoever blushes now is a thief.” After these words, the fox’s tail began to turn red, turn red, and now she was all red. Since then, the fox has been called the “red cheat.”
